Identity Experience Program
Through Korean Culture

DUDA KOREAN is a brand that reimagines traditional Korean culture for modern life.
Inspired by Korea’s coming-of-age rituals, the “This is my 호(ho)” program invites participants to create a personal ho, a name that expresses who they are, through hands-on cultural experiences.

Through “This is my 호(ho)”, we offer a cultural ritual where anyone can discover themselves within tradition and celebrate personal identity and growth.

Why “This is my 호”?

What kind of program is it?

It’s a small life ceremony for quiet self-reflection, combining Korean traditional sensibilities with modern identity work.
Rather than reenacting tradition, it offers an easy, contemporary way to experience Korean culture.

What is a “호”?

A “호”(號, ho) is a traditional Korean pen name that expresses one’s character or values. Today, it can be understood as a personal nickname or persona that represents you.

What Do We Do in the Program?

Participants select words that reflect their values, choose a personal 호, and share this new identity with the group. It lets international participants move from simply seeing Korean culture to personally living it.

  1. 1

    Disappearance of Tradition

Gwanrye (冠禮) is a traditional ritual that has disappeared from daily life in Korea. Today’s younger generation rarely experiences the true meaning of a traditional coming-of-age ceremony.

  2. 2

    Self-Awareness Experience

At a time to reflect on identity and life direction, opportunities for self-reflection are limited. Creating one’s own ho becomes a meaningful act of self-awareness.

  3. 3

    Cultural Content for Foreigner

Beyond hanbok, food, and performances, this program offers a deeper, participatory form of Korean tradition.

  4. 4

    Cultural & Social Value

Experiencing tradition firsthand helps activate local cultural assets, strengthen regional identity, and create content with social value.

The Meaning and Process of the Traditional Coming-of-Age Ritual

The coming-of-age ritual, practiced from the Goryeo to Joseon era, marked a public transition into adulthood, recognized by the community and accompanied by new social responsibility.
